It’s Hot – Let’s Go Outside!

20111115_CO_shelf_agr_188

Remember, Team:

We’ll be going outside a whole lot now that the weather has warmed up in Boulder! Always come to practice with a lunch, jacket, and outside walking shoes just in case you miss one of our emails regarding a scheduled outside trip.

Also, Adopt-A-Crag is coming! Students who want to go outside MUST go to Adopt-A-Crag. (Don’t worry – we will give you alternatives if you can’t make it.) Stay tuned for the posted date and location.

Boulder Climbing Series (BCS) This Saturday

Attention: BCS sport climbing competition this Saturday, March 17th at the Boulder Rock Club!

Details and format here.

Be prepared to bring your shoes, comfortable clothes, team shirts, and of course, a chalkbag that hangs around your waist. This is for Youth and Family, so just because you’re a parent doesn’t mean we won’t pressure and/or bribe you into competing with your kid(s)!

ALL participants will need a BELAYER to compete.

Wondering what it’s like? Here’s a review from last year by Adam from Climbing House.

In the Email

Hey Spot Coaches,

I just wanted to let you guys know how last weekend’s BCS comp at the BRC went. We had two entrants from our team, Cody Stevenson (male youth D) and Katie Wakefield (Female Youth A). It was Cody’s first rope comp ever, and both of these guys absolutely rocked it. They were smooth, focused, and looked completely comfortable in harnesses ;) .

Cody came in 3rd behind Ryder Noble and Callum Caulson!
Katie came in 1st!

Make sure that you take a second and congratulate them this week. Thanks, just wanted to pass that on.
